The Lydiate Loop

One of the most popular walks, this 9.6km moderate walk starts and finishes at the Running Horses pub on Bells Lane, adjacent to the canal at Sumners Turn Bridge.  View details of the The Lydiate Loop.

Passing Lydiate Hall, St Catherines Chapel and The Scotch Piper (reputedly Lancashires oldest pub), there is plenty to see along this route before returning to your starting point along the Leeds Liverpool Canal towpath.

The walk is generally level throughout.
