Website Accessibility Statement
Visit Sefton and West Lancs aims to provide information on this website that is accessible to all who use it. Our website accessibility statement outlines improvements we will make to ensure we achieve these aims and objectives.
The statement covers only this website and other Sefton Council websites linked to this site have their own accessibility statements.
What is an accessible website?
An accessible website can be used by everyone, regardless of their abilities or the method they choose to access it.
Is this website accessible?
Most of this website is accessible using a wide range of devices, but we know that the following issues currently exist when using the site:
Can be difficult for users to use pinch to zoom and scroll on some of the smallest devices
A number of forms cannot be understood using screen reading technology
Listed sections of the website don’t have links for accessibility software to understand
A significant proportion of links can’t be used by assistive technology
More links on the site need to explain their purpose to help assistive technology tell the user why they should click it
When using keyboard navigation, not all functions are available while many control functions aren’t highlighted
Not all pages have headings that are discernible to assistive technologies
A small number of different links point to different destinations – confusing for assistive technology and therefore the user
Contrast between text and background colour for headings and sub-headings make it difficult for some users with visual impairments
Not all PDFs have headings that are readable by assistive technology
