Burscough Wetlands Walk

Do you want to feel fit and healthy or do you just need to work off the last of the Christmas pud! Either way join in for a marvellous 12 mile guided tour of some of West Lancashire's beautiful countryside wetlands.

Starting from Platts Lane fishing lake, you will join the Leeds Liverpool canal before heading north to Rufford and Mere Sands Wood where you will stop to eat your packed lunch. The group will then loop south via Martin Mere to finish back at Platts Lane.

The walk is flat and set at a reasonable pace so is suitable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness. However, please be aware that footpaths may be muddy at this time of year and this is a long distance walk. Sturdy footwear with ankle support is advised and clothing appropriate to the changeable weather conditions is advised.
